Hugo Larsson Leaves Eintracht Frankfurt for Fulham on Loan Deal
The Swedish midfielder's move to the Premier League club becomes permanent if Fulham meets the terms of an obligation to buy.
Hugo Larsson has left Eintracht Frankfurt for Fulham on a loan deal that will become permanent at the end of the season if Fulham meets the terms of an obligation to buy, Bundesliga said in an announcement on its website.
The 22-year-old Swedish international signed a long-term contract with Fulham that takes effect once those conditions are met, according to Bundesliga. He spent three seasons in Frankfurt after arriving in the summer of 2023 from Malmo, his hometown club in Sweden. In that time he made 119 appearances for Frankfurt and scored 10 goals, Bundesliga said.
A Key Player Moves On
Markus Krösche, Eintracht Frankfurt's board member for sport, thanked Larsson for his time at the club. "Hugo Larsson has been one of our key first-team players over the past three years and has played a big part in our success," Krösche said, according to Bundesliga. "We'd like to thank Hugo for his commitment in an Eintracht shirt and wish him all the best for his future career."
Larsson has 12 caps for the Swedish national team, but he was left off Sweden's roster for the 2026 World Cup, Bundesliga said. No transfer fee was disclosed in the announcement.
Frankfurt's Summer Overhaul
Larsson is the 14th player to leave Frankfurt this summer as the club reshapes its roster under returning head coach Dino Hütter, according to Bundesliga. The rebuild comes as Frankfurt opened the season with a lopsided result and a tight one. The team beat lower-division side Tönis 11-0 in the first round of the German Cup, then drew 3-3 with Union Berlin on the opening weekend of the Bundesliga season, Bundesliga said.
Frankfurt is next scheduled to play Augsburg at home on Sunday.
Fulham, meanwhile, gets a Bundesliga-tested midfielder as it continues its season in the Premier League. Bundesliga's announcement did not detail Fulham's plans for Larsson's role on the squad or say when he is expected to make his debut for the club.
