Kayla White of the United States won the women's 200 meters at the Lausanne Diamond League on Friday, finishing in 22.18 seconds to beat Britain's Amy Hunt, who came in at 22.32, according to Guardian Sport and BBC Sport. Hunt held off Nigeria's Favour Ofili for second place in a photo finish, both outlets reported.

The race came less than a week after Hunt became the first athlete to win four gold medals at a single European Championships, taking the 100m, 200m, women's 4x100m relay and mixed 4x100m relay titles in Birmingham, BBC Sport reported. Jamaica's Shericka Jackson, a two-time former world champion in the event, pulled up with a leg injury with about 70 meters left to run, according to the Guardian and BBC Sport. Two-time Diamond League champion Brittany Brown did not start, BBC Sport reported.

Hunt told BBC Sport she had expected to feel more worn out from her travels. "I honestly really surprised myself, it was such a happy and pleasant surprise post-Europeans and after a lot of travel," she said. "I love performing, I love coming out here for a crowd, they really lifted me. It's a magical experience."

Werro Wins At Home, Tebogo Dominates Men's 200m

Switzerland's Audrey Werro, the newly crowned European 800m champion, won on home soil in a meeting-best 1 minute, 55.33 seconds, holding off a late charge from the Netherlands' Femke Bol, according to BBC Sport and Sky Sports. Werro said the quick turnaround after the Europeans had left her more tired than usual but that she was happy to win anyway, according to Sky Sports.

In the men's 800m, world and Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi of Kenya won in 1:42.19 ahead of Algeria's Djamel Sedjati, the Guardian reported. Botswana's Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo took the men's 200m in 19.87, well clear of Commonwealth champion Sinesipho Dambile, while Britain's Zharnel Hughes finished fifth, according to BBC Sport.

Meeting Records For Two American Athletes

Italy's Andy Diaz Hernandez, who won triple jump gold at the Europeans with the third-longest jump in history at 18.15 meters, could only manage third in Lausanne with 17.20 meters. Portugal's Pedro Pichardo won with 17.44 meters, the Guardian reported.

American Masai Russell set a meeting record of 12.27 seconds in the 100m hurdles for her ninth straight win of the season. "It keeps the streak alive, and I'm very pleased," she told Sky Sports. Fellow American Rai Benjamin, who has focused on the flat 400m this season, set a meeting record of 46.67 in the 400m hurdles, according to the Guardian.
