Brighton has turned down a £50 million ($63 million) bid from Liverpool for winger Yankuba Minteh, according to the BBC and Yahoo Sports.

Minteh, a 22-year-old Gambia international, has scored 10 goals and added nine assists in 73 appearances for Brighton, the BBC reported. He joined the club from Newcastle United for £30 million ($38 million) in 2024. He is currently recovering from a leg injury suffered in a preseason friendly against Roma this month. The Guardian reported Minteh underwent surgery and could be sidelined for as long as eight weeks, though he is said to be open to a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is looking to add width to his attack after Mohamed Salah's departure from the club, according to Yahoo Sports and the BBC. The Guardian reported Liverpool wants to sign two wide forwards before the transfer window closes and that Minteh remains on the club's shortlist despite the rejected offer. It is not yet clear whether Liverpool will raise its bid.

Barcola Still The Priority

Liverpool's main target remains Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, but the two clubs are far apart on price, according to the BBC and Yahoo Sports. PSG wants around £145 million ($184 million) for the 23-year-old France international, while Liverpool is looking to close closer to £100 million ($127 million). The Guardian reported Barcola is open to joining Liverpool.

With the gap in valuation unresolved, the Guardian reported Liverpool has also looked at Barcola's PSG teammate, 18-year-old Ibrahim Mbaye, though that interest has not turned into a formal offer.

Other Moves At Anfield

Liverpool has already added Victor Munoz, a winger who can also play through the middle, from Osasuna for £34 million ($43 million) this summer, according to Yahoo Sports and the BBC. Brighton, meanwhile, has lost forward Danny Welbeck to Chelsea and has winger Kaoru Mitoma sidelined with injury, the Guardian reported, factors that may explain the club's reluctance to sell Minteh.

Separately, the Guardian reported Liverpool has agreed to sell midfielder Curtis Jones to Italian champion Inter Milan for £30 million ($38 million), with Jones set to undergo a medical in Italy. Inter's offer, made this week, includes €30 million ($32 million) plus €5 million ($5.4 million) in bonuses, according to the Guardian.
